Margaret (Peg) Cherny

Vice President, Regulatory, Government Affairs and Communications Bayer CropScience LP

Margaret A. Cherny is the Vice President of Regulatory, Government Affairs and Communications for Bayer CropScience.

Peg began her career with Rhodia, a Bayer CropScience predecessor company, in 1973 as junior project leader for herbicide development. In 1981 she was promoted to registration manager for Rhone-Poulenc Ag Company in Princeton, N.J.

She became Director of Regulatory Affairs at Rhone-Poulenc in 1988 and moved to Research Triangle Park. In 1994 she took the position of Director of Environmental, Regulatory and Public Affairs at Rhone-Poulenc and in 1998 became Vice President of Communications and Government Relations, a post she held after the 1999 merger of Rhone-Poulenc and Hoechst that formed Aventis CropScience. After the acquisition of Aventis CropScience by Bayer Crop Protection in 2002, Peg was appointed Vice President of Regulatory, Government Affairs and Communications for Bayer CropScience.

As Vice President of Regulatory, Government Affairs and Communications, Peg establishes strategy and direction for regulatory affairs, stewardship and communication for Bayer CropScience LP in the United States.

Peg is a strong community supporter, and her volunteerism includes United Way, Food Bank of Eastern and Central North Carolina, Passage Home, Ride for Kids, and the Stevens Ministry, which aids people who are having difficulty with life.
