Beth Roden is director of communications for Bayer CropScience U.S. and a coordinator for Bayer CropScience NA. She is also a member of the North America executive team.

Beth received a bachelor’s degree in mass communications and journalism from St. Bonaventure University and has continued her education in Bayer’s Senior Business Management Program at the University of Notre Dame and Bayer’s Leadership Program at the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, N.C.

After serving in various communications roles at the Illinois Manufacturer’s Association, the National Humanities Center, and ISA, Beth worked for several years as the global corporate communications manager at Reichhold in Research Triangle Park, N.C.

She joined Bayer CropScience in 2004 as a communications consultant and moved into managerial roles over the next six years. She became an external communications manager in 2010, and then accepted her position as director of communications for Bayer in 2012.

In her role as director of communications, Beth creates, develops and implements integrated communication strategies to protect and enhance Bayer’s reputation and support its business objectives. Activities include the bee health program, crisis and issue management, executive communications, and corporate social responsibility. Other roles include leading the culture and change management program for Bayer CropScience NA, serving as company spokesperson, and sitting on the board for the Bayer USA Foundation.

In addition to working with the United Way in her community, Beth serves as captain of Team Bayer CropScience for the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) bike ride, and is a board member for Passage Home, a local non-profit dedicated to fighting poverty and homelessness. She was awarded the 2012 Community PR Leader of the Year by the PRSA, in addition to the 2012 Bayer Award for Excellence in Communications for bee health.
