Arlin Bostian

Sr. Vice President, Special Projects

Arlin L. Bostian is Senior Vice President of Global Development North America for Bayer CropScience LP based at the Bayer Research Park in Stillwell, Kansas.

Arlin was born in Guthrie, Oklahoma, and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Zoology and Biological Sciences from Oklahoma State University in 1975. He received a Master’s Degree in Plant Pathology from Oklahoma State in 1979, and a Ph.D. in Nematology from North Carolina State University in 1982.

He has been a Product Specialist with Union Carbide Agricultural Products in Research Triangle Park, a Product Issues Manager with Rhone-Poulenc Ag Company, and Vice President of Research and Development for Aventis CropScience in Research Triangle Park. He also served as the Rhone-Poulenc representative to the Asia Pacific Crop Protection Association.

He joined Bayer CropScience in Research Triangle Park in 2002 as Deputy Head of Research and Development. Later that same year he became Senior Vice President of Research and Development for Bayer CropScience in Stillwell, Kansas.

Arlin became Senior Vice President of Global Development North America in 2007. He oversees the evaluation and development of new chemistry and technologies for the U.S./North American market as well as global markets. His team of more than 100 people generates much of the information required by the Environmental Protection Agency for product registration. He works closely with Marketing and Regulatory and with Global Research and Development. He splits his time between Bayer Research Park and the Monheim, Germany, global technical center and has served as the Bayer CropScience Sustainability Officer.
