What is Option herbicide?
Option is the only postemergence herbicide for corn that controls annual and perennial grasses and key broadleaf weeds with the flexibility to rotate to all other crops within 60 days. Option has good crop tolerance, a wide application window and a strong fit following pre-emergence corn herbicides.
What weeds does Option control?
Option controls annual and perennial grasses such as foxtails, shattercane, barnyardgrass, wild proso millet, Johnsongrass and wirestem muhly. Option also does an excellent job of controlling velvetleaf, pigweed, sunflower and nightshades and provides suppression on a number of other broadleaf weeds.
Is Option a pre-emergence or postemergence herbicide?
Option is a postemergence herbicide with a strong fit following a pre-emergence corn herbicide such as Balance®Pro or Define™. Option also is very effective in total post programs.
What is the active ingredient in Option?
Foramsulfuron is the active ingredient in Option. It is a sulfonylurea (SU) herbicide that provides excellent control of grasses and key broadleaf weeds.
How does Option compare to other SU herbicides?
In addition to being tough on grasses, Option also controls key broadleaf weeds. Unlike other SU herbicides for corn, Option allows growers to rotate to any other crop within 60 days. Another unique quality of Option is that a proprietary safener present in the formulation enables growers to tankmix Option and its adjuvant system, MSO + nitrogen with herbicides such as Distinct®.
What is the adjuvant system of Option?
Option is applied with a high quality MSO + UAN (28-32%) or AMS.
