Bayer CropScience shares a vision with Passage Home to utilize partnerships with businesses, non-profits and caring citizens in North Carolina to support strengthening the Southpark neighborhood in Raleigh, NC by:
- engaging and empowering the people in the neighborhood
- building a sense of ownership and pride
- creating a sustainable, healthy environment for those citizens to flourish
Through these efforts, a safer, healthier, more beautiful and viable community for the residents in Southeast Raleigh today and in the future.
This summer Bayer employees hosted Bayer Days at camp every Wednesday to expose the Passage Home youth to science, sustainable living and technology through experiential learning. Campers from ages 5 through 12 experienced Bayer’s Making Science Make Sense program, art day, etiquette day, along with a few sponsored field trips.
Passage Home is pleased to have the support of Bayer CropScience, particularly for our summer camp program,” says Jeanne Tedrow, CEO of Passage Home. “The Bayer Days every Wednesday and especially the field trip to the Clayton facility gave our campers a fun, hands-on educational experience and exposure to the field of science in a real workplace setting rather than from inside our Safety Club.”
